Emergency Accommodation Visiting Officer

Bexley is an outer London Borough with the best of both worlds, located between the hustle and bustle of London and the Garden of England, Kent.
Within the borough we have award winning parks, open spaces, and listed heritage sites.
Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities Commence investigations on behalf of Bexley Council and/or our partners with the assistance of the Council’s Senior Fraud Investigators to a professional standard delivering an effective and efficient service.
Undertake visits to residential properties and other sites concerning investigations.
Assist Senior Fraud Investigators in preparing case files for criminal proceedings per the Criminal Procedure and Investigations Act 1996, consisting of sworn witness statements, exhibits, unused material and sensitive material. Contact and forewarn potential witnesses.

Proven experience of shaping services and delivering change in an environment of change.
Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of legislation, policy and practice relating to homelessness in England, including strong expertise in how various accommodation options are developed, funded and delivered.
Excellent knowledge and understanding of local government, key partners and stakeholders, their roles and interests and the operational and political context in which services are provided to people at risk of homelessness.
