About the Role

 

We are looking for a dedicated Estates Surveyor to join our Assets, Property & Facilities Management Team. In this role, you will support the Council’s strategic objectives by providing a wide range of valuation, estate management, and other professional services. The successful candidate will contribute to managing the Council’s asset portfolio effectively, focusing on identifying and delivering key property-related projects.

Main Responsibilities 

  • Undertake valuations, development appraisals, and prepare business cases to assist senior managers in their decision-making process. 
  • Support the Council’s growth strategy by managing property-related projects, including the negotiation of property transactions with private landowners. 
  • Provide professional advice on property-related issues, ensuring compliance with legal documents and legislation. 
  • Identify opportunities to maintain the Council’s financial stability through effective use and management of the Council’s property assets. 
  • Conduct comprehensive reviews of the Council’s property portfolio to identify opportunities for service improvement, financial gain, and regeneration benefits. 
  • Work with partner organisations and Council departments to achieve common goals and support project implementation.

Candidate Profile

  • Chartered membership of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS). 
  • Proven commercial property experience, with a track record in estate management, development appraisals, and valuations. 
  • Experience in managing property-related projects with the ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines. 
  • Ability to produce accurate reports and communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Proficiency in using property-related IT systems and software.
